Welcome to this episode of The Organised Women in Business Podcast. Today’s episode is about the basics of business planning.
STOP! Don’t put your phone or headphones away. I’m not talking about the type of business plan that you need to send to a bank for finance approval. But even if I was, that’s actually really important stuff too!!
I’m talking about day to day operational type business planning.
When it comes to planning and organisation, there is no silver bullet, there is no magic solution. Everyone is wired differently and different systems work for different people. But the basics of business planning are fundamentally the same.
You’d be surprised to know that I’m not expecting everyone to plan the way I plan. I just want you to find a method that works best for you, your business, and your life. If that’s using some or all of my methods and tested products and systems, I’ll be doing metaphorical cartwheels. If you don’t use my methods or products or systems but still find success in business planning, I’ll be doing metaphorical cartwheels. What brings me the most joy is you finding something that works for you and your business. That’s it.
Dear listeners, I’ve a question (or few) for you.
What’s your business planning look like at the moment?
Are you a pen and paper fan, or electronic all the way? Maybe a combination of both?
Do you have any systems in place? Do you think you could improve how you spend your time?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let me know below, or on my Facebook page.

E5: Making Do
Making do is an important life skill. The UK Government’s Ministry of Information issued a booklet and newsreel in 1943 urging people to repair, reuse, and reimagine their existing clothes because of the clothes rationing during the Second World War. Take a listen to this episode to discover other ways of making do.
E4: Soul Modes and Productivity with Mim Dart
“You are not one ordinary woman. You are four extraordinary ones.” – Carlie Maree, Soul Modes. Having read the book myself, it all makes so much sense. Listen in to see what I’m talking about.
E3: How Do I Get Organised and Not Overwhelmed?
There’s one thing I want everyone to know: being organised does not mean that it’s overwhelming. It’s all about doing things in a way that works for you.
